rogue

<r shows your game. choose by number or name. your choices wait until you return.

start here

  1. <r: choose a build, then a route. check your game again whenever you need to.
  2. choose one of the combat options shown by your class, by name or number. the whole fight resolves in one action. actions have a 10m cooldown; route and loot choices are immediate.
  3. <r progress: see permanent progress and where to spend it. death keeps that progress; <r new starts again.

scouting

scouts offer two enemies with different loot slots. choose the weapon, armor or charm opportunity that suits your build and the threat you can handle. the prompt shows enemy type, immunity and terrain; <r scout 1 or <r scout 2 shows full enemy stats. choosing is immediate, then combat uses the normal action. the chosen slot drops only after victory. these are ordinary local enemies and gear at your selected difficulty, with no boss or bonus rewards. offers stay fixed; leaving returns to the same routes.

jobs

hobo encounters offer an optional three-stage questline. choose hunting, preparation or class technique branches, then progress by playing normally. checks, free swaps, deaths and refused actions do not advance jobs. each stage pays once: 2 materials and 6 mastery. the last also unlocks a preparation recipe for the completing class: doubter barriers, believer tracking, mage insulation or rat breaker. an already learned recipe gives no extra reward. recipes still cost materials to use. <r prep shows the current effect and charges. a preparation waits when gear or the selected spell already covers its bonus.

<r quests shows your current target and depth requirement; <r quests tips explains what counts. job progress stays after death and restarting. class techniques require the class chosen when accepting; other jobs can progress with another class. manual-depth runs can find hobos in their next refreshed routes. open encounters keep their current choices. older automatic-depth runs gain this content after restarting.

classes

classchoiceswhat carries between fights?
doubterattack, brace, counterup to 3 guard; defended hits build it, counters spend 2
believerattack, aim, ambushno extra resource; judge sustained attacks against precision and opening burst
magefire, frost, shockstored fire/frost charge for shock and elemental combinations
ratstab, poison, drainmixture and up to 3 doses; camp actions refill them

class mechanics stay when you replace gear. guard, stored spells and doses reset on a new run; learned upgrades stay. checks work anytime. <r class explains your current class. active older runs keep their current combat rules until restarting.

example for rat: reach level 2 (40 mastery), then spend 2 materials on cover.

  1. <r tree rat defense: cover gives +1 ward and -1 speed. all skills have tradeoffs.
  2. <r learn cover rat: pay once to learn it permanently.
  3. <r loadout add cover rat: select it for your next rat run. your other choices stay selected.
  4. <r loadout rat: check what that next run will start with.

you can buy and save choices during a run. they take effect when you start another run. <r loadout remove cover rat deselects cover without unlearning it. you do not need to extract to keep progress.

commanddescription
<rogueyour game and choices. explore the current depth or descend when ready. areas change every 5 depths; a boss blocks further descent at 5, 10, 15 and so on. if difficulty 2+ is unlocked, choose difficulty first, then a build. existing runs keep automatic depth progression until you start again
<rogue descendgo to the next depth, immediately. at a boss depth, the boss option enters its encounter instead; defeat it first. ordinary encounters keep you at the same depth. deeper areas offer better loot, stronger tables and more mastery/materials
<rogue difficultyyour current level, enemy modifiers, mastery multiplier and unlocked levels. choose difficulty before choosing a build; this check does not change it
<rogue bossenter the boss at depths 5, 10, 15 and so on. entering is immediate; fighting uses an action. victory grants loot, 6 max hp and a run perk, once per depth. you can keep exploring after winning, then descend when ready
<rogue 1choose option 1. gameplay actions have a 10m cooldown; routes, descent, classes, loot and boss perks are immediate. leaving an encounter returns to the same routes without rerolling them. checks and help work anytime
<rogue doubterchoose by name. short names work when only one choice matches; ambiguous names spend no turn
<rogue questsyour active job, progress, minimum depth and rewards. jobs survive death and extraction. stages pay automatically when completed; no return visit to collect rewards
<rogue quests listall three hobo job stages and their rewards. use continue for the rest of a long reply
<rogue quests tipsthe exact objective, including what counts for your chosen class techniques
<rogue quests abandondrop the current job and its unfinished progress. completed stages and rewards are kept. another hobo encounter lets you choose that stage again
<rogue scoutenter a scout encounter. two fights offer different loot slots; enemy type, immunity and terrain are shown. choose weapon, armor, charm or the option number. selecting is immediate; fighting uses the normal action cooldown. leaving keeps the same routes
<rogue scout 1inspect the first offered enemy without choosing it. rogue scout 2 inspects the second. loot is ordinary local gear in the shown slot, not a guaranteed upgrade
<rogue hoboenter the hobo encounter. choose one of two job branches; accepting and leaving are immediate and keep the same routes. an active or completed job instead offers recovery and supplies for a gameplay action. hobo camp is a separate encounter
<rogue classyour class mechanics. rogue class 2 shows mage combinations or rat mixtures. new runs use class combat choices; existing runs keep their current choices until restarting
<rogue firemage: fire burns, frost controls, fire and frost store a charge; shock spends it for burst damage. your previous spell stays stored between fights; frost then fire shatters armor, fire then shock adds opening damage, shock then frost adds ward
<rogue prepyour current preparation effect, remaining charges and whether an available action can use it. a preparation waits if the chosen spell already fills its effect cap, or existing piercing/focus already bypass the enemy armor
<rogue mix nerverat: select venom (damage), nerve (poison and chill), or drain (poison and leech) between encounters, including hobo and scout stops, immediately. switching does not refill doses. you start with 3; camp actions refill to 3. leave does not refill
<rogue poisonrat: spend 1 dose to apply your mixture. rogue poison nerve chooses nerve and attacks in one action; venom and drain also work. stab favors direct damage; drain trades direct damage for healing from poison. poison immunity blocks poisoning and the nerve mixture's extra chill
<rogue counterdoubter: spend 2 guard on extra counterattacks. brace builds 1 guard when enemies hit you, up to 3. attack keeps your guard. guard persists between encounters
<rogue aimbeliever: precise attacks ignore evasion and some armor, but cost speed and damage. attack builds damage through consecutive hits; evasion resets that buildup. ambush spends 1 supply to act first in the opening round and deal more damage for 2 rounds, then less
<rogue skillcurrent skill and learned choices. rogue skill guard selects guard between encounters, immediately. rogue skill none removes it. in combat: rogue attack skill guard selects and attacks together (brace/trick work too). provisions is fixed for the whole run and grants supplies only when starting
<rogue packpack offered loot. equip and salvage also work
<rogue burnchoose an offered burn perk after a boss. perk selection is immediate and keeps the battle's original cooldown
<help rrogue command list. rogue help also works
<help r tophelp for the top command. replace top with any rogue subcommand; rogue help top also works
<rogue help boardsboard names
<rogue 2when choosing loot: pack the item immediately. equip/pack/salvage do not start or extend the previous turn cooldown
<rogue inv 1item in pack slot 1. the pack holds 3
<rogue equip salvage 2equip offered loot and salvage pack slot 2 in one choice. pack salvage 2 also works. +2 scrap; immediate, preserves the previous cooldown
<rogue salvage 1salvage pack slot 1 for 2 scrap. immediate; equipping loot packs the replaced item. the full-pack loot menu shows equip salvage 1/2/3 and pack salvage 1/2/3; choose the packed slot to scrap
<rogue gear 1worn gear: 1 weapon, 2 armor, 3 charm
<rogue statsyour stats and turn number
<rogue foe [1-2]encounter prompts show enemy hp, attack and armor, keeping hp first when crowded. foe shows full stats, role, damage type and immunity; foe 2 shows the full combat rule
<rogue compare 2at a workshop: preview modification 2, including replacement of the old modification and effect caps. modifying worn gear costs 3 scrap and uses a gameplay turn. leave returns to the same routes immediately; no reroll
<rogue modifications 1weapon modification. 2 armor, 3 charm. each item holds one modification; it stays on that item through upgrades and packed swaps
<rogue bargainsactive bargain and its benefit/penalty. one bargain per run; another encounter can replace or clear it. accepting or clearing uses a gameplay turn; leave returns to the same routes immediately. bargains end on death or extraction
<rogue help workshopworkshop help. rogue help bargains explains run bargains
<rogue terraincurrent fight terrain: hp damage before combat, speed loss, bow penalties, wet effects and dark ambushes. uses your worn gear, bonuses and ready preparation; read-only
<rogue compare pack 1compare pack slot 1 against your worn gear, including effective stat caps and special rules. read-only; works during combat and cooldown. swap and act with rogue brace equip 1
<rogue comparewhat the current gear offer would change. at a forge: compare 1 shows the weapon upgrade, compare 2 shows the charm, compare 3 shows the armor upgrade

<rogue newstart again after death or extraction. affordable unlocked skills are offered through upgrades at the end of a run; choosing upgrades costs no turn. purchases are permanent and fill an empty next-run skill slot for that build. existing selections are kept. choose difficulty first if 2-5 are unlocked, then choose a build. both choices are immediate; mastery, unlocks and materials are kept

scaling and rewards

active runs count toward best-run, build and season leaderboards without extracting. new runs earn 1 material and 6 base mastery per defeated enemy through depth 15. at depth 16, then every 5 depths, rewards rise by 2 materials and 3 base mastery. difficulty multiplies mastery. bosses grant the same permanent fight rewards, plus loot, 6 max hp, healing and a run perk. the 3-relic difficulty unlock grants extra mastery once per difficulty. mastery and materials stay yours on death. boss healing is 12 hp or about 11% of max hp, whichever is higher. boss perks offer two uncapped combat bonuses and one recovery choice: 4 max hp (also heals 4 hp) or up to 2 supplies. when fewer than two combat bonuses remain, both recovery choices can appear. full supplies are never offered. supply rewards show the amount that fits, up to the cap of 12.

areas, enemies and special gear

9 areas, 23 base enemies, 9 bosses, 37 events and 30 unique items. enemy traits, elements and area conditions add combinations; they are not separate base enemies or areas.

all nine areas have themed drops and their own events and bosses. regular gear can still drop there. special gear keeps its rule when upgraded; gear and compare show the rule.

broken crossings offer supplies and a condition for the next 2 fights: repair costs 3 scrap and keeps you dry, or wade for free and stay wet. wet doubles your shock damage and weakens burn, but also strengthens enemy shock. dry overrides wet terrain without removing poison fog, heat or slowing hazards. supplies stop at 12. <r buffs shows the remaining fights; the condition cannot stack or be replaced until both fights resolve. waiting, recovery, loot and fleeing do not use it up.

base enemies

rusted sentinels start with high armor that loses 20% of its starting value each round after round 1, reaching zero at round 6. shielded aliens reduce weapon/spell hits by 35% for the first 2 rounds; effect damage and counters bypass the shield. these rules change fight timing, not the number of commands. rogue foe shows the rule and stats before you act.
